Spring Pictures are just around the corner on Wednesday April 1st

Good evening, Mustang families! This is your newly appointed interim principal, Jacinda Clifton, here with your weekly message. We are excited to celebrate Read Across America Week 2026 here at Germanton Elementary this week! Read Across America Week is observed to inspire a lifelong passion for reading in our students. All are invited to dress up in celebration of Read Across America by wearing red, white, and blue on Monday; dressing as someone from the past on Tuesday; dressing as a person performing your dream job on Wednesday; dressing as a storybook character on Thursday, and represent your state or hometown with your clothing on Friday.
In addition, this week is National School Social Work Week 2026; therefore, we want to recognize our very own school social worker, Mrs. Jamie Blume, for the outstanding job she does in supporting our students' mental health, physical health, and academic success. Mrs. Blume works tirelessly to provide the emotional support and external resources needed for students and families to thrive here in the Germanton community. Please take a moment this week to let Mrs. Blume know just how appreciated she truly is here at Germanton Elementary.
March 2nd and March 3rd are now regular school days to makeup days missed due to inclement weather.
We will have our final Treasure Chest drawing on Monday, March 2nd.
On Tuesday, March 3rd, there will be a PTSO meeting. We hope to see many Mustangs at this meeting.
As this is my first week at Germanton Elementary School, I am asking all car riders to please display your blue placards when picking up students in the car rider line. This will help me to become more familiar with our students and families while keeping the car rider line moving more efficiently.
It is truly my honor to follow in Mr. Collishaw’s footsteps, and serve the Germanton community in this manner. I look forward to getting to know each of you on both a professional and personal level. My goal is to promote success for all students and staff by creating an environment focused on unity, strength, equity, and collaboration. Working together, we can provide the best possible education for all of our children.
Let’s make it a great week at Germanton, and as always, GO MUSTANGS!
